Dna Replication Diagram
Dna Replication Diagram. DNA replication has been well studied in bacteria primarily because of the small size of the genome and the mutants that are available. Genetic material is always nucleic acid and it is always DNA except some viruses.
The process of DNA replication comprises a set of carefully orchestrated sequence of events to duplicate the entire genetic content of a cell.
DNA Replication has three steps - Initiation, Elongation, and Termination.
On the leading strand, DNA pol III is moving towards the replication fork and can synthesise continuously. DNA replication occurs through a semiconservative mechanism, because each new molecule is made up of one old strand and one new strand. During DNA replication inside a cell, each of the two old DNA strands serves as a template for the formation of an entire (B) Schematic diagram showing a DNA replication fork and helicase to scale.
